Peace of Mind Foundation

April 3, 2020 by Houston Philanthropy Circle

Our luncheon speaker for our now postponed Houston Philanthropy Circle Symposium was to be Houston’s Jim McIngvale, who has been a philanthropic leader over the past many years. When we had to reschedule due to the pandemic, we asked if he would produce a message for us.  You will find his passionate video on this HPC website. As a small honorarium for his countless acts of charity, we asked him to name his favorite nonprofit so we could highlight it. Jim has chosen the Peace of Mind Foundation, founded by his daughter, Dr. Elizabeth McIngvale. We are honored to add this bonus nonprofit to our Virtual Nonprofit Symposium. Thank you.

Chairman

Introduction by
Elizabeth McIngvale, Ph.D.

The Peace of Mind Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing resources and support to those impacted by obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders. Through education, research, support, and advocacy, the foundation is determined to create opportunities for individuals worldwide to have access to the information and tools they need to manage their OCD.

We invite you to explore our website for educational videos featuring OCD experts and advocates, bringing you content focused on evidenced-based treatments, tools for managing your OCD, and ways to connect with the OCD community. When you are in the midst of navigating resources and finding effective care, the Peace of Mind Foundation is here to help make that process a little easier by providing referrals to help point you and your loved ones in the right direction. In addition to our content, we operate the OCD Challenge program, which is a free, online interactive self-help website designed to help those with OCD.

The foundation works to provide connections and the most up-to-date information on OCD and related disorders. Along with personal resources for families and loved ones, the Peace of Mind Foundation has a strong emphasis on professional development and OCD awareness. The foundation focuses on training mental health professionals and community groups about OCD awareness and evidenced-based treatments. This is all done in an effort to enhance resources and reach professionals working within the community.

Remember, you are never alone in this battle and the Peace of Mind Foundation is here to help
