Faith Formation & Family – COVID-19 Needs

The following nonprofits, operating in the area of Faith Formation & Family, have appeared at Houston Philanthropy Circle Symposiums. We have requested their specific needs during this pandemic crisis, and share them here with you so that you can review them here and reach out directly to the nonprofits.

 

Adore Ministries

Services Offered: Online Catechesis, Small Group and Worship for youth groups and families in our 6 parishes. Assisting in Liturgy livestream

Specific Needs: Supplemental financial assistance for our ministries, applicants for summer internship and full time mission positions

Be An Angel Fund, Inc.

Services Offered: The mission of Be An Angel is to provide essential adaptive equipment to low-income special needs children

Specific Needs: Our current needs are to provide hearing aids, hearing aid batteries, adult size diapers and disposable bed liners.

Casa de Esperanza de Los Ninos, Inc.

Services Offered: *Safe homes for children
*Emergency help for families: food, diapers, gift cards for basic needs, rent and utility payments.

Specific Needs: Basic needs: food, diapers, wipes, paper and cleaning products
Gift cards for groceries, Walmart, Target
Monetary donations

Services Offered: We have shifted to primarily food assistance within our communities serving 1000+ families per week.

Specific Needs: Food, supplies, and resources to support our increase in benevolence requests from our beneficiaries for rent, utilities, etc

Faithful Fathering

Services Offered: Encourage & equip dads through routine messaging, access to studies and father-daughter/father-son activities.

Specific Needs: We have been blessed by computer provision. Please pray for effective messaging as we shift from personal to virtual contacts.

Institute For Spirituality and Health

Services Offered: Virtual Mind-Body Skills Groups provide self-care tools and social connection for health workers, teachers, teens, & public.

Specific Needs: $50,000 to fund 25 self-care support groups and workshops over the coming year, or $2,000 for each 8 week group/one workshop.

Paradisus Dei

Services Offered: We strengthen marriages by providing programming for couples, men and youth. We run a formation program for lay volunteers.

Specific Needs: Our spring donation appeal was reduced by 1/3 and several major gifts to our formation and youth program have been suspended.

Services Offered: All our initiatives most importantly our continuing education conferences for medical professionals & med students online.

Specific Needs: Support for operations. Our summer and fall events continue but the usual revenue we expect in the spring has been hurt badly

Youth for Christ Houston

Services Offered: Serving 11-19 year old youth throughout greater Houston, specifically those involved with the juvenile justice system.

Specific Needs: $25 and $50 Walmart gift cards for kids/families in our mentor program; $25 and $50 HEB gift cards
Pray for kids in juvenile detention
